TanCat
These terms cover the tancat.dev website and every TanCat licence. By using the site or the software you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.
Who we are. TanCat is the trading name of Louis Cattano, a sole-trader software business based in the United Kingdom. Address: Flat 2, Bournehall, 2 Bourne Close, Bournemouth, BH2 6BW. Contact: hello@tancat.dev. See the privacy notice for how we handle personal data.
TanCat is self-hosted software. It generates Playwright pytest tests from user stories, using an LLM that you supply. You run it on your own infrastructure. We do not host it, and we do not receive your source code, your stories, your test targets, or your evidence.
| Tier | Licence | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Free Community | Apache-2.0 (the open-source licence in the repository) | 25 test runs per 30 days; 10 evidence exports per 30 days |
| Pro Deployment | Commercial per-deployment licence, key issued by us; perpetual for the version bought | Unlimited runs for one deployment; Jira evidence export; 12 months of updates included |
Custom, regulated or enterprise arrangements are agreed case by case, not sold as a published tier. Contact us.
A licence is perpetual for the version you buy: it does not expire, and the version you hold keeps working. It includes 12 months of updates from the date of purchase. After those 12 months, further updates are paid. Security fixes and bug fixes in the version line you bought stay free for the life of the licence.
Updates are delivered as files on Lemon Squeezy and on the releases page. TanCat does not check for updates at runtime and calls no vendor server; you choose when to install an update.
One deployment is one installation of TanCat that serves one organization. You may not share, resell or publish a licence key. The free-tier limits are enforced locally by your own deployment, so a self-hoster can turn them off; they are a nudge, not a lock. We ask that you do not reset a limit to avoid paying for a paid tier.
The software and this website are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software is free of defects, that generated tests are correct, or that the site will be available without interruption.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Support is provided by email at hello@tancat.dev, by the developer who builds TanCat. You get help with installation, licensing, and defects in TanCat. We aim to reply within two working days, Monday to Friday, UK business hours. Support does not include custom development, third-party systems, or on-site work, and we do not offer telephone or out-of-hours support. A contractual service level is available on request.
Paid licences are sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record: the seller of record for the transaction, handling payment, tax and refunds under its own terms. If the software is not what you expected, contact us within 30 days of purchase and we will arrange a full refund through Lemon Squeezy. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion and where the law requires one.
You may stop using the software at any time. We may end a paid licence if you breach these terms or share a key, after written notice where the breach can be fixed. The free tier needs no licence and cannot be withdrawn from you, because it is open source.
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them. Changes apply to licences bought after the change; a change never reduces the rights you already hold for the version you bought.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
